For those of you who are new to iSTEM, I am the tree-hugger-in-residence. I will save and recycle every scrap of paper I find and drive to maximize my car’s MPG (much to the dismay of anyone driving with me or behind me...but I’m up to 52.5 mpg!!). After earning a M.S. in Aquatic Ecology (where I had my 15 minutes of fame, discovering a new species of fly), I worked in environmental consulting for a few years, but took a leap into education. I have taught various life science courses (from ESL to AP) over the last 20 years at Lake Catholic, Andrews Osborne Academy, and since its inception, iSTEM.
In my spare time, I enjoy answering emails in the wee hours of the morning and forcing my three boys and husband on hiking, canoeing, and biking trips in National Parks across the U.S. My husband and I have coached travel basketball and baseball, and though I have hung up my high tops, I will miss herding cats...er, I mean, coaching pre-teen boys.
