Dear iSTEM Families,
The iSTEM leadership and Governing Board are exploring long-term facility options that best support our mission, students, and families. Our current facility has served our students well, but as the building continues to age, it will require significant capital improvements in the years ahead to maintain the high-quality learning environment our students deserve.
After winter break, we will be launching a family questionnaire to gather your perspectives as we consider three possible facility scenarios:
-Relocating to Lakeland Community College: iSTEM has the opportunity to relocate to a building on the Lakeland Community College campus, which is no longer in use by the College. This is an independent structure and would be strictly for iSTEM students.
-Relocating to Auburn Career Center: iSTEM has the opportunity to relocate to a building on the Auburn Career Center campus, which previously housed the program. This structure is connected by a corridor to the main building but would be for iSTEM students.
-Remaining in our current location
Please note that this questionnaire is not a vote, and you will not be required to select a preferred option. Instead, it is an opportunity for you to share feedback about potential benefits, challenges, and important considerations related to each scenario. Your responses will help inform the iSTEM Board and administration and assist them in future discussions and decision-making.
The questionnaire will be emailed on Tuesday, January 6, and close on January 13. I encourage every family to take a few minutes to participate. Your insights are crucial to shaping iSTEM’s future and ensuring that any path forward reflects the needs and priorities of our school community.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We truly value your input and are committed to transparency as we plan the next chapter for iSTEM.
Sincerely,
Allen Wilson
Superintendent
