Champions

In a remarkable debut, iSTEM’s Robotics Team captured the championship title this past Saturday, outperforming 23 competing teams and marking a significant milestone for the school’s STEM programming.

Competing in their very first season, the team quickly distinguished itself through a combination of technical skill, problem-solving ability, and teamwork. What began as a new opportunity for students to explore robotics evolved into a championship run that exceeded expectations and showcased the strength of iSTEM’s hands-on learning approach.

“This is an incredible accomplishment, especially for a first-year team,” said Robotics Co-coach Noel Bottesch. “Our students demonstrated resilience, innovation, and a commitment to excellence throughout the entire competition” added Autumn Zappitelli Co-coach.

The event brought together teams from across the region, each tasked with designing, building, and programming robots to complete a series of complex challenges. iSTEM students rose to the occasion, refining their designs and strategies with each round of competition before ultimately securing the top spot.

The victory reflects not only the students’ hard work but also the support of staff and mentors who guided the team through its inaugural season. Their combined efforts helped build a strong foundation for what promises to be a growing and competitive robotics program.

As iSTEM continues to expand opportunities in STEM education, this championship win serves as an early indicator of the program’s potential. With momentum on their side, the Robotics Team is already looking ahead to future competitions and continued success.

For a team in its first year, the message is clear: iSTEM Robotics has arrived—and they are just getting started.
