iSTEM has been awarded a $40,000 grant from the Lubrizol Foundation to upgrade its science laboratories, expanding opportunities for students to engage in hands-on STEM learning.
The funding will be used to modernize laboratory equipment and instructional resources, creating learning spaces that better reflect today’s scientific and technological environments. The upgraded labs will support students in grades 6–12 as they participate in inquiry-based experiments, collaborative projects, and college-level science experiences.
“This investment from the Lubrizol Foundation will have a lasting impact on our students,” said Allen Wilson, Superintendent of iSTEM. “Modern science labs are essential to preparing students for college and careers in STEM fields. We are grateful for Lubrizol Foundation’s commitment to helping our students learn through exploration, discovery, and innovation.”
The enhanced laboratories will provide students with access to updated equipment and technology that supports instruction in biology, environmental science, and other STEM disciplines. The improvements align with iSTEM’s mission of providing students with authentic, career-focused learning experiences that prepare them for success after graduation.
iSTEM emphasizes experiential learning and offers students opportunities to earn college credit while developing the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed in today’s workforce.
